BUSY TOURING SUMMER IN STORE FOR EASY STAR ALL-STARS

Acclaimed Reggae Group Playing Major Festivals and Club Dates in Europe, Africa, Central America and South America through September

The Easy Star All-Stars – whose latest album ‘Radiodread: A Complete Reggae Version of Radiohead’s OK Computer’ was released to extensive praise last August – will tour Europe and Africa this summer; the band also has shorter trips planned to Mexico and Chile in May. The reggae collective just finished a wildly successful tour in March, which included sold out nights in Istanbul, Turkey, and Tel Aviv, Israel, as well as a great run of Italy with some shows packing in 3000 people.

The band’s set draws extensively from ‘Radiodread,’ as well as from their previous hit record ‘Dub Side Of The Moon’ and their own original material.
The band heads to Mexico City and Monterrey May 4-6 for their first ever appearances in Mexico. This will be followed by an appearance at the Dancehall Festival at Arena Santiago in Santiago, Chile, on May 27, where they will share the bill with Anthony B and Ky-Mani Marley. The band will also hit the studio to record an EP of some of their original songs, which Easy Star Records plans to release by the end of the summer.

The All-Stars’ second tour of Europe this year begins June 30 with an appearance at the Radar Live Festival in Istanbul. They will make their first appearance in Poland at the Plock Festival. After that, the group will return to Italy, including a spot at that country’s biggest reggae festival, Rototom Sunsplash. From Italy, the group heads to England for a two-night stand at London Jazz Café, appearances at the Larmer Tree Festival, the Rhythms of the World Festival, the Redhill Festival and the Wickerman Festival in Scotland.

The August/September outing brings the band back to the UK for spots at the Beautiful Days Festival and Bestival on the Isle of Wight. In between those two shows, the band will play a number of dates in the UK and make their first trip ever to Egypt.

Of ‘Radiodread,’ Rolling Stone said “Two great tastes that taste great together.” Entertainment Weekly commented, “’Radiodread’ feels less like a covers album than some long-lost roots-reggae gem.” Toots and the Maytals, Horace Andy, Citizen Cope and Morgan Heritage were a few of the guest artists who joined the Easy Star All-Stars on the record, though they do not join them on the road.
