EASY STAR ALL-STARS RADIODREAD TOUR KICKS OFF 2007 IN EUROPE AND THE MIDDLE EAST

March Schedule Brings the Critically Acclaimed Band to Italy, Turkey and Israel

The Easy Star All-Stars – whose latest album ‘Radiodread: A Complete Reggae Version of Radiohead’s OK Computer’ was released to universal praise last August – will embark on a three week tour beginning March 8 in Italy. The band ended its first stretch of ‘Radiodread’ touring with sold out dates in the U.K. and a hugely successful appearance at France’s Transmusicales Festival in December; now the 9-piece band is geared up to return to the road. The band’s set will continue to draw from ‘Radiodread,’ ‘Dub Side Of The Moon’ and their own original material.

The March dates will see the band returning to Italy one year after they first played to big crowds there; the band will also play four shows in Tel Aviv, Israel, and Istanbul, Turkey. Producer/Guitarist Michael Goldwasser has spent considerable time in Israel, producing albums for Israeli reggae bands and building up the Easy Star reputation there. He will be joining them as a special guest for those shows. The band will return to Europe in July for the summer festivals.

Of ‘Radiodread,’ LA Times calls the album “Inspired.” Rolling Stone says “Two great tastes that taste great together.” Entertainment Weekly comments, “’Radiodread’ feels less like a covers album than some long-lost roots-reggae gem.” Daily Record raves “A work of Genius” while Mojo reports “You sense Thom York’s approval as the steely vulnerability of OK Computer’s ballads are re-located to another gleaming, glowering darkworld.” Toots and the Maytals, Horace Andy, Citizen Cope and Morgan Heritage were a few of the guest artists who joined the Easy Star All-Stars on the record.
